WHAT TYPE OF GYM IS THIS?
We are a barbell focused strength training gym where progression is made to become stronger individuals using sought out training programs. We specialize in Starting Strength, Olympic Style Weightlifting, Group Training, and Athlete Development.
ARE YOU A CROSSFIT OR BOOTCAMP GYM?
While crossfit and bootcamp gyms are great for people who just want to exercise, Strength University is a rare breed. You won't find a "3, 2, 1 go!" type workout or circuit style workouts done for time here. However, when you come in, you are expected to work hard and do the work!
IS THIS FOR ANYONE?
Absolutely! Our clients range from ages 10 years to 70 years old. There are multiple programs we offer that is applicable for every age. We welcome people who are new to barbell training and also people who are experienced lifters.
WHAT IS THE GETTING STARTED SERIES?
The Getting Started Series is for those who are new to barbell training. It consists of 5 one-hour private training sessions and is designed to familiarize new gym members with the concepts used in barbell strength training. New members will learn the techniques of barbell exercises, as well as the basics of nutrition and gym etiquette. Participants in the Getting Started Series will build confidence, and learn how to train safely and effectively before moving on to our Group Training Sessions.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER COMPLETING THE GETTING STARTED SERIES?
After completing the Getting Started Series, the new trainee has the option to go into one of our group training programs or continuing on with private training.
I HAVE EXPERIENCE IN BARBELL TRAINING, DO I HAVE TO DO THE GETTING STARTED SERIES?
Those who have prior experience in olympic style weightlifting, Starting Strength, or are a seasoned competitor in powerlifting are not required to go through the Getting Started Series.
DO YOU ALLOW DROP-INS?
Yes we do! However, you must have experience in barbell training. Please email or call prior to coming in.
